35mm pinhole camera. Gallery of pinhole photographies and his authors

I would like this section being interactive. Everybody who has a pinhole camera will be able to ?expose? here his job. The only requirement for allowing picture in this gallery is that they must be made with a 35 mm pinhole camera.

This requirement is easy to understand. If there were pictures not made with the camera shown within these pages, it could take to a mistake without wanting. As you will know, the quality of each pinhole is different and the mistake would be there.

Once all of this explained, and for everybody who wants to have his gallery here, nothing better than seeing some of them, its content and its functioning.

Felipe González de Mesa Ponte
Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 1969


An IT Graduate (Gran Canaria, 1992), he founded the portal FotografiaenCanarias.com in 2003, which he currently runs. He has exhibited his work in individual and joint exhibitions on several occasions since the year 2000, among these: Caja de Arte (Obra Social y Cultural de CajaCanarias, exhibited in several Town Halls of all islands) and Al Verde (Art Exhibition Hall Los Lavaderos, Organismo Autónomo de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 2003). He has taken part on two occasions in the joint exhibition "Atlántica Colectivas" section of the International Biennial Exhibition FotoNoviembre. A selection of his photographs Niños de América is permanently on display at the virtual gallery of the NGO Ayuda en Acción, www.ayudaenaccion.org. His work has been published in magazines like La Fotografía Actual and Revista Foto as well as several catalogues. In June 2002 he won first prize in the Regional Photography Competition organised by the savings bank Cajas de Ahorros de Canarias with his collection Plataneras. He has been a finalist at the last three editions of the prize  ?Rafael Ramos García ? Prize organised by the Universidad de La Laguna.

Fotografío todo lo que veo. En estas imágenes estáis todos, algunas veces sin que lo sepáis, los paisajes, los objetos, las personas, todo aquello capaz de ser fotografiado.

Con el tiempo las imágenes retenidas en la memoria se desvanecen adquiriendo el carácter del paso del tiempo que todo lo nubla como en sueño, sin embargo las imágenes retenidas por el negativo hacen omisión de ese carácter temporal que todo lo borra o desvanece.

Esto es lo que más me gusta de la cámara; me da las imágenes que no puedo retener, que van a ser borradas lentamente por el  paso del tiempo, que van a sufrir cambios al paso de los días.

Y gracias a la cámara me he sorprendido de la capacidad que tiene una imagen para rebuscar en nuestra memoria y lograr "reproducir" el momento de la toma, qué se sentía mientras miraba por el visor, qué ocurrió... Detrás de una fotografía hay un momento detenido en nuestra memoria, percepciones guardadas en nuestro cofre.

Sin embargo esta pequeña caja de madera con estenopo guarda las imágenes como si el paso del tiempo actuase en el momento de la toma. Impaciente las revelo y positivo. Impaciente toco y miro el papel todavía mojado. Sorprendido le añado el recuerdo de aquella toma a una fotografía que aparentemente el paso del tiempo le afectó en el instante que obturé. Alguna vez me ha parecido que esta cámara estenopeica fotografía los sueños...

Madrid, 1962. He studies photography, graphic design, video and music. At the beginning of the 90’s he begins his series ?Objects? and ?Watercolour box? that shows in the gallery Spectrum and in different places (Círculo de Bellas Artes, Amadís, Sala Borrón), etc. 

Later he begins his open projects between which you can find ?Pictures of a diary? or ?Open silence?, that are published in books like ?The bottom?  (Mestizo / Centro de las artes de Alcorcón), Library of Photographers of Madrid (La Fábrica). He has taken part in collective expositions such us ?Meridiano? (Gallery CAM Plaza de España) ?Looks and visions? (Canal de Isabel II), ?Binomis? (Olot Fotografía) ?Diverse Worlds? (Canal de Isabel II) or ?Proposal 99? (Galleries in the Ministry of Culture) and has made individual expositions between which we can find the exposition in the Festival Journées Photographiques de Viene (Switzerland), Gallery EFTI (Madrid) or more recently in the Gallery Blanche (Briey, France). 

He organizes and coordinates specialized courses about creativity and practice of photography and, since 1997, he has been a teacher in the course ?Behind the camera? in cooperation with the photographer Jeanne Chevalier. His pictures are in public and private collections (Comunidad de Madrid, Genres and Tendencies in the beginning of XXI century in the Alcobendas Mayor House), and more. Currently he is developing the project ?Photolatente?, about which the magazine Photovision dedicated its issue number 31 (Photovision 2002).
